Saturday also saw Ethereum, the second most popular cryptocurrency and the currency of NFTs, take a tumble.
Overall, according to the crypto tracking coinmarketcap.com, cryptocurrency assets have fallen $US2 trillion leaving the global market value at approximately $US834 billion.
This sudden drop has sparked action from lending platforms such as Celsius Network and Babel Finance to suspend all withdrawals and transfers and comes after stable coin Terra imploded last month leaving investors billions of dollars out of pocket.
